​Muntons Chocolate
Malted barley that is highly roasted, though not as high as black malt, to achieve a rich dark color with roasty hints of black coffee and bittersweet chocolate. This malt adds color and flavor to a wide variety of dark beer styles and is a classic malt for stout, porter, or brown ale. At small percentages it gives a brown color and mild roasted flavor while larger amounts deliver strong bittersweet chocolate and near black color. 375-450°L

Muntons Roasted Barley
Raw unmalted barley is roasted until it reaches its characteristic intense color. In brewing roasted barley is used to impart a "dry" bitterness to finished beers and is often used in the production of stout. Flavor contributions: coffee, intense bitter, dry.  470-560 L

Muntons Black Patent
A roasted malt colored to a higher degree than Chocolate Malt in the roasting process. Black Malt has no diastatic activity and no fermentable extract and is simply used to add flavor and color in dark beers such as milds, porters and stouts. Flavor contributions: coffee, intense bitter, dry. 500-600L

Weyermann Carafa III
Dark-roasted specialty malt made from high-quality spring barley. It's carefully roasted to add an espresso-like bouquet, coffee and chocolate flavors, and a mild but noticable roasted aftertaste. It produces opaque beer with coffee-brown color. Weyermann® CARAFA® Type 3 is similar to 'Chocolate' or 'Black' style roasted malts, and can be used in any dark lager or ale. 488-563 °L

Weyermann Carafa Special III
The contributuions are the same as Cafafa III but 
it is the de-husked version of CARAFA®, it produces rich color, body, flavor and aroma without the harsh flavors and astringency typical of dark-colored grains. 488-563 °L

Simpsons Coffee (Brown) malt are less modified, and impart intense coffee flavors, while leaving a smooth mouth-feel. A must in a London Porter and English style stouts.  161.8-225.6° L

Briess Midnight Wheat
550° L Briess Malting - Briess Midnight Wheat Malt will contribute the same color characteristics as most other Black Malts but without the bitter, astringent, dry flavors or aftertaste. Starts slightly sweet, with hints of roasted flavor while finishing out exceptionally clean. Excellent in Black IPAs, Schwarzbiers, other dark ales and lagers.
